Just got back from the Keys

Here are some pics.

Arrived at the ramp, about to splash the boat

Pulling into the Marina

Levi and I hooked up w some yellow tail snapper

He also caught a keeper red grouper on his little snapper rod (his first keeper RG)

I was able to get 3/4 of us out to sea for some trolling Friday. Purple was the color.
Found weeds and birds in 750’ and caught a few small dolphin before the seasickness crept in with 2 of my mates

Day 1 of lobster season

Day 2 of lobster season
Levi became a lobster beast this day.
Started catching his own keepers.

Molly who is not as much inclined actually got right in there this year
It was nice to see her drop her girly girl stuff for a bit

Grilling on the boat fresh shrimp and lobster and I made some YT ceviche

Awesome Sail. Me, my brother, and cousin from KY are camping at Fort Desoto mid Aug. It's gonna be a blast. A Mon - Fri trip without the weekend traffic and kids back in school. Yaks are ready and reels are strung. I'm ready to rip lips!

You bringing a boat?
I can’t get off work during the week right now (the keys vaca days used) otherwise I’d try to get you offshore , but I have a nice 15’ flatback canoe I could let you use while you’re down if you want to fish the flats for trout redfish etc.

Lmk. Just give me a heads up

Thanks sail. We are bringing 3 kayaks. Gonna be an adventure one way or another. My neighbor offered his flats boat, but we decided we would rather do the yak thing and have an adventure. It's only an hour each way if we decide we want to run back and grab his boat for a day.

Looks like a blast!

The fishing here in La is pretty awesome but hitting the keys is on my to do list when the kids are a bit older

Did some lake fishing recently

Caught some nice, select bluegill, etc with the boy

They preferred the worms over crickets this day

Went out in the gulf Friday night to get the full moon snapper bite
Did decent on the mangos (3 in the 20”+ range), only one yellowtail(middle of pic), some almaco jacks and grunt.
Had a big squall come through that made fishing interesting for a couple hours. But still managed to get some dinner

Oh and the prop was repaired 8-)
Ran well
Actually think he tuned it nicely, she was running 41 and I hadn’t messed with the trim yet

Went fishing a few weeks back and it was just a non productive day on the flats. Nothing. Was biting. At all

Yesterday the boy and I took the canoe out and went panfishing

The lake had 8” mini rules on bluegill and sunfish
While we caught fish, we sent a ton back.

Just shy of 10”

Bullhead will be joining his pals (notice we coordinated our Camo pattern)

The boy killed it with this whopper lol

We had this curious fella swim with us for a bit
