A nice jacket of beer batter :L:

If that doesn’t warm them up, a nice dunk in some hot oil usually fixes the problem

My bunch can usually eat em as fast as I can catch em. But we do eat a lot of fish all year, so for personal stash I vacuum seal. For give aways I just put em in a bag and freeze em. For large quantity fish fry portions I try to catch em a day or 2 b4 and just keep em on ice, if not water bag em.

Ziploc and water. Make sure to squeeze all the air pockets out or that will give you freezer burn taste. I've had it a few times properly frozen this way for 2-3 years, no issues.

Vacuum seal works too and thaws faster but I've just never felt the need.

Vaccum seal them and you will never have a problem. Also you guys that are drying and partially freezing get rid of those cheap vac sealers. Get a chamber and you'll be able to vac seal wet fish. Also the bags are much cheaper like 1:10 the price.

rutnbuck wrote:Vacuum seal all fish. Never no freezer burn and they thaw out quickly. I always put fillets on paper towel and slide them into the bag before sealing. Date and label and your ready for the next fish fry. Plus you stack them very nice in the deep freezer.

I do pretty much the same thing.

Whopper Stopper wrote:We use the ziplock and water method if we plan on using the fish within a couple of months. If I am holding out for a fish fry for a family get together a few months down the road, we always dip the fillets in water and lay them on a cookie sheet and freeze them for a nice ice glaze. Once they are frozen we use the vacuum sealer on them.

Probably a little over kill but they sure taste fresh caught.

Interesting
I may try that instead of just vacuumed packed
