Dumb OR Agressive?
This little pike...26 inches or so....
Is one of the most stupid fish I have ever come across!
Either it is stupid or aggressive?
I typically fish at my mother's every thursday or wednesday and this wednesday past marks
SIX times I have caught the same pike.

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: Dumb OR Agressive?
i have caught the same nord twice in the same day icefishing, its happened more than once. afew years ago i caught a big slob northern icefishing that was close to 40", i released it and caught the same one the next day out of the same hole within minutes of the time i caught it the day before. to answer your question id say both dumb and agressive.

Re: Dumb OR Agressive?
Some pike are just crazy agressive! One time up in Canada I just pulled my topwater bait out of the water dangling it about a foot above the surface while talking to my dad when all of a sudden a smaller pike jumped out of the water and in mid-air attacked the bait and managed to hook himself. Craziest thing I ever seen!

Re: Dumb OR Agressive?
Len. I don't think you're helping natural selection here. :-)
I did a trip a few years back in northern Canada on a river called the Attawapiskat. We had about 10 miles of water to fish by a couple miles wide on average. We were six guys, and we caught tons of fish. But by the end of the week we were catching Fish that had been caught before on a regular basis, maybe about 50% of fish had been caught previously.
You could see clearly in a non-catch and release environment how the population could be severely damaged even by a smal group of fishermen who fishing for one week. Trophy waters need Special regulations. At least where I'm fishing them, a 20 pound pike might be close to 20 years old.

Re: Dumb OR Agressive?
Sharks don't have this problem... they eat you the first time and don't have to worry about a repeat performance.
These fish are programmed to react that way when the conditions trip their trigger. Be glad you aren't a golden shiner in their pond.
