Thanks. I got it's twin about 15 min later. My boys were playing on the beach while I got it. I'm lucky to have a few bodies of water around here I can rely on to produce good brook trout. My other focus is trophy northerns. I struck out on that one this past week. Largest was maybe 10 lbs. the boys landed pretty much all of those.

I went out yesterday for a couple hours and got a 25 inch pike and lost a huge one maybe close to 40 inches. Had him on for about 5 minutes but he shook the spinner.

Here my nephew is pretty jacked over a walleye he caught on a chartreuse Smithwick Rattlin' Rogue -- we were trolling with boards in the shallows. His smile kind of says it all...

Image

My BIL caught a nice bronzeback on a Northland Fireball Jig and shiner.

Image

Here's a nice walleye I caught on a Northland Whistler jig and shiner combo.

Image

It was a bit sluggish out there where I was at -- clear blue skies and crystal clear water always adds to the challenge. But it's always good to test out the equipment and get new line on the reels before the hot bite cranks up!

I managed to fish 5 days in a row over Memorial Day weekend.

Caught some nice sunsets...

My daughter caught a tagged walleye...

Image

I caught a bunch of 23''-25" walleyes...

Image

I tried out a new lake and fished that day from 9AM til midnight because they were really popping... caught a great sunburn ... and almost got in a head on with a semi-truck driver that swerved into my lane at 3AM.

Image

I ended the trip with a 28" walleye that we managed to make look like a 22" fish in the picture. Then I released it.

Image

The bite was slow but we did OK and we caught some really nice walleyes. We had a great time though. The sluggish bite is pretty typical post-spawn where I'm fishing... they're a bit scattered but with the warming surface temps they're moving to the secondary breaks and other early summer structure...

How do I post a picture I downloaded to image shack?

I'm going to try something. Hope it works.

Read an article about muskies on a local lake near my home, so I took my 7-month pregnant wife and my daughter fishing after dark a couple times last week. Within 10 minutes I had one musky on and it bent the hooks. In another 5 minutes after that, my daughter had one on and we boated it. When she was playing it she kept saying "don't be a musky, don't be a musky"... I laid it down on the floor for a quick pic since she didn't want a pic with it - then I released it. 40" fish.
Image

I caught one a couple nights later --- I came back armed with bigger tackle and caught one around the same size as hers. I might do some more of that after dark tonight.
Image

Buddy and I went fishing the St. Croix and caught Sheepshead on Slow Death rigs, crappies on Shad Raps, walleyes, smallmouth bass... white bass... It was crazy. Everything was biting.

Image

Saturday I went out on my favorite walleye lake in a storm and that wasn't so much fun. We caught some walleyes but I was kind of busy keeping the boat quartering to the big waves. Busted two seat bases, my bimini top, and lost the ongoing trailer light battle.
Image

Caught some nice sunsets and landscapes the last couple weeks.
Image

Image

Trying to decide where to go this weekend...

Last week my wife caught her biggest walleye - a 27.5" -- a nice chunky fish for this time of year. But she's way pregnant and has a t-shirt tucked into a pair of boxers so only I get to see the full pic :P
