Rough morning! Just one of those just not my day kinda trips. The kind of day where u miss or lose dang near every fish that bites. But I managed to catch enough to give to an elderly couple who luvs them some crappie. Wind kicked up like something fierce around 10. Turned my fun into something that resembled deadliest catch. Decided to live to fight another day. Not sure if I’m going tomorrow or not. Time will tell.....

Couldn’t help myself..... As soon as my wife backed up to head to work I grabbed my rod and headed out. Decided to try the opposite side of the lake today to see if the water was any warmer. Na, it’s about the same. I don’t have a boat so I kinda put all my eggs in one basket once I determine where I’m going. Even if it stinks I typically stay and grind it out. I just fished around a beaver dam and his trench today. Catch one here and there. Dang I don’t wanna go back to work tomorrow!

Slow morning for such a pretty day. Ended up with 13 but 7 of those came off 1 bush in about 5 minutes. The rest was a slow grind. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

All work and no play as of recent. Got this entire week off and am gonna try to have a lil crappie fun. Weather isn’t cooperating with non stop cold fronts and frigid night temperatures. Figured I would give it my best shot anyway. Not very Bueno for this time of year. Weather doesn’t look to improve all week, so I’m digging in for a grinder!

Keep after them. I will start soon in northern hillbilly country. Ice came off about a week ago, which is pretty early for up here

I remember someone sending me this thing about unseasonably warm February water conditions this year. Yet I Had the coldest, most snow, in state history! Geez, what a dream squasher. Well..... just goes to show ya. Predictions are just like a box of chocolates

Did a lot better than I thought I would. Everything in my body told me not to go cause it would be a waste of time. Between the cold early temps, high north wind, and my personal history. Just goes to show ya, u never know if u don’t try.

How do you cook your crappie?
