This place is awesome and kinda bums me out that it's for sale. We spent a week out on this ranch while hunting mule deer in the surrounding South Dakota public land back in 2006 and the accomodations were unbelivable. Waking up every morning to herds of buffalo and bugling elk right outside your bedroom window was something I could easily get used to! The best part was renting the whole brand new huge lodge only cost us $750 for the whole week and after splitting it up was cheaper than staying in a motel.
The ranch itself is actually a hunting preserve for high dollar elk hunts with bulls reaching 450"+
I was among them with the owner as they fed them like cattle. Not my cup of tea to hunt in places like that but to each their own! I was totally content on hunting the public land for free!It was a great experience and was hoping to get back out there some day but it looks like that may not happen depending on who purchases it!
