Unread postby keb » Fri May 31, 2013 12:59 pm

Here is my pack list so far, or the stuffI think I will buy for a 10 day hunt, with two 5 to 6 day bivys, for some type of animal, hopefully a alpine mule deer hunt.

pack: Kelty Coyote 85 (4800cubic) 5.3lb

bag: Thermarest Antres down 20f 1.15lb

tent: MSR Hubba 3.4lb

pad: Thermarest Neoair lite 12oz

stove: MSR pocket rocket 4.2oz

filter: MSR hyperflow 7.4oz

water/bags: MSR Dromlite 6 liter x211.4oz

cookware: MSR solosystem 11.3oz

knife: havolon w/extra blades

glass: Bushnell 10x42 elite 26oz

If i figured right, my pack and sleep systemare right at 11lbs, binos
2lbs, the rest is 2lbs sothat puts me a 14lbs, good or bad? Prob throw in a tripod for glassing.

Wow that's some lightweight gear!

My sleeping bag alone probably weighs more than all of your stuff put together!

Awesome, I figured the only people smart enough to pack light for anything would be Infantrymen :D . I served 12 years as a straight leg 11B.

when i went to colorado last year the only thing i mest up on was my sleeping bag make sure it will be warm cuz i froze my but off with a 10 degree bag and got a cold because of it. it might be 60-70 during the day but at 10000 feet at night it gets cold fast
i will be buying a new one for this year for sure!!!

i know people are different so if you are a person that get cold easy make sure whatever bag you get will work for you.

I'm going to be hunting elk in colorado ,it will be a 7 day hunt, and my food weighs 24 pounds, my pack weighs around 130 pounds with everything I need, don't short yourself when it comes to food, after walking 10- 15 miles a day looking for animals, your body is screaming for food, I also was in the army, 13 fox. Also condition your body for the hunt u might think your in shape until u hit the mountains.best of luck to u
