As soon as I get the pictures I will post them. A good friend just came home from Idaho with a beautiful 6x8 Elk. It has a palmated rack on both sides like I have never seen before.

Was this a guided hunt or diy? I am planning a hunt to Idaho for 2018 and I'm just looking at all of the options. Not looking for specific spots if it's a diy but if it's a guided hunt the name would be nice.

It was a guided hunt. I will try to remember to asked him who the outfitter was. He said it was no piece of cake, he saw lots of Bulls he didn't take but he said it was rough steep terrain because they went back in on horseback to get away from other hunters..

I love Idaho and elk, too bad it is so far. Now I have to go dig up the pic from Oct in Kill Zone.

Fuzzy, I met a guy at a WI hunting show who was an elk guide. I ended up out there with him and his hounds one late spring, we were looking for cats. Saw a lot of elk on that trip. Andy Rasmussan (sp?) I could dig up the number if you would like, I put a post up here about my lion/ wolf hunt. Spring of 2012, that had his contact info I believe. I can't believe that I havent been back.

Uncle Lou, that would be great. The more information I can get the better I will feel about making a decision. If you wouldn't mind I would love to hear about your experience. The more I learn about Idaho the more excited and the more real this trip is becoming. This will be my first trip out west and my first time chasing elk.

8-)
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
