Yes, the scenery and hunting opportunities would be awesome from everything I have heard and read but the reality is that would be a small portion of your time there.

Pretty much my thoughts too.
That being said, I'm trying to figure out a way to afford a 2-week fishing & sight seeing trip out there. That's one pricey trip.
Surprisingly my wife I think seems more excited. I've already talked to her about not being able to go home as often and missing family events so when that happens there isn't a surprise. I do have an aunt and uncle that live there so we'd have at least someone but she's dreamed of watching the Iditarod, seeing the northern lights and continuing to explore the national parks. The climate will be a change from KS but we grew up in northern WI so I think we can adapt. Might even mean we can bust out our winter gear we keep hauling around in totes because it's too warm where we've lived. I think we are leaning more towards it currently. There's some more info I want before we make a decision though. Thanks for all the input and I'll keep you all posted on what happens.
