Cool snake. I also just let them be. Snakes eat the stuff that torment people.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

That is a monster... I've seen them fatter but never that long... honestly the small ones usually scare me more cause they are less noticeable...

I don't kill them either, but alot of people do... I just don't figure it does any good in bite prevention. It's like killing skeeters, it doesn't put a dent in them

Moccasin's don't give ground. A rattlesnake will get away if they can and let you know they are there. But a moccasin, bad tempered and will stand there ground. They don't tell you they are there.

I hate them things. They smell bad too. Hogs love em.

That, the heat and mosquitos are the only things I hate about Hunting Louisiana /Mississippi. Any of you snowbirds wanna swap a public hunt with me? I could see snow and you could kill a fat moccasin like that in December, I kid you not!

I can't say I love a moccasin or a pigmy rattler. I've got an agreement. Slither away and fight another day. When I see that big white mouth open at me it's another story. I kinda think satan might have been a moccasin.

The picture doesn't do this thing justice it was huge but I wasn't getting any closer. Walked within about 3 feet of him heard it suck back and start rattling. Next to impossible to see in that crap until it does rattle.

I'm not sure what to think of snakes, other than distance is good.

One place in particular I hunt is just completely overrun with moccasins. I'm really not sure what's the reasoning but I can probably only remember a handful of times I've seen a regular water snake there.

As for as killing them, the first 4-5 moccasins I come across that won't get out of my way I'll kill, then I get tired of it and start going around them. I'll still take them over bears and wolfs though

I'll take the bears and wolves any day over a snake. You can't trust em, they don't have legs.

Worst part about mocasans is they will get in your boat or kayak in the spring. We used to have a heck of a time with them in early spring while we were bowfishing.
Go where none other dare to go, and there you'll find success.
