I went into work early today, but forgot my key to get in. Bummer, I happened to have my grouse gun in the car and hit up a gamelands a couple miles down the road. Turkey is also in so I loaded the double with Federal Heavyweight #7's. I shot this squirrel at around 60 yards and it just dumped him. At the sound of the shot another squirrel I never knew was there started scurrying down the tree. Well I missed him at about 25. Go figure.

I always like small game hunting, especially grousing with my lab. This squirrel will be ate, by me and Corbin most likely tomorrow, and the fur will be tied into flies for fishing this spring. Another benefit of small game hunting is the bonus fly tying material. And by far squirrel body fur makes the best nymphs, PERIOD!!

NEXT YEAR I' HOLDING OUT FOR A BIG ONE!!

Sounds like my idea of a perfect black friday - far away from civilization!
