Dead opossums?
I been seing dead opposing all over the place the last 4 or 5 days what is it their breeding season or something?

Not sure but same goes for raccoon as well here in PA. It's usually like that all summer though.

If they are road kill that's one thing. I'm not sure about their breeding times either. Are they near the roads? Have they been shot?
My best guess would be they ate something poisoned. I've even heard stories about insecticides killing birds and small mammals that feast on dead or dying bugs. Even rat poison put out could be a culprit.

Lots of dead possums on the roads after a rain because they come out on the roads at night to eat the night crawlers hit are on the roads. Why did the chicken cross the road? To show possums it really can be done!

The opossum's breeding season begins at the end of winter – in this area March and April. While foraging during the night, the male opossum smells a female in heat. Female opossums will accept a male only once during the estrus period. However, if a pregnancy does not result during the 36 hours or so that she is in heat, she will continue to come into estrus in 28 day cycles until breeding is successful.
