My grandfather in law has a farm that borders Horicon Marsh. I was talking to him the last couple of days while doing some food plot work. He got this picture redone. He used to have one in the goose shack where he rented out blinds till someone stole it. Well he got a hold of another picture and had it enlarged again and is in process of framing it. I forgot to ask the year but enjoy.
Sorry about Glare. Lightning was terrible in work shop.

Very cool. In the 80s I lived near there. I used to dress up in my dad's camo and sit on the edge of my neighbors corn field holding up a corn cob trying to bait some in. I was about 6, so I'm not sure what I would have done if one got close enough to grab, but he would have been in trouble.

This picture is simply awesome. I remember this picture as a kid, I think my Dad has a book with this on the cover.

In 1966, Edgar Mueller's single most-famous photo, Goose Explosion, was
published in Life magazine and was subsequently published worldwide.

I think this is photo your talking about. Edgar Mueller may have even taken photo I have above, I'm unsure. He was a bus driver for Mayville and photographer for Mayville news. He took lots of photos and having his photo published really sparked a lot of photos similar. Sometimes it hard to see that as incredible when you see it everyday. A funny story I got told about Edgar is in winter after fresh snow fall he slowly drove bus in ditch and got it stuck to take a picture of the bus and all the kids heads out the windows. I imagine he always carried his camera and had some incredible photos.
I did a little digging on grandpa's photo and got to hear some great stories of cut corn fields completely black from geese not a hint yellow corn. Then the Edgar stories too where pretty funny.

I believe I was told Edgar Mueller's Goose explosion photo was taken off of why 28 by the new visitors center.
