wind tunnel effect/leeward bedding on hills

Unread postby mihunt44 » Tue Nov 20, 2018 1:54 am

how big of a hill would you need to expect to see the leeward bedding/1/3 elevation cruising tendencies?
for example im looking at a river bottom. from the ag fields it drops about 50' over the course of 40 yards or so down to the river.
would you expect to see them cruising/bedding in the 1/3 elevation from the top area or is it not enough of an elevation change to warrant that behavior?
would the river being there cause any notable difference in the thermal affect that should be taken in to consideration?

thank you
