Re: Carp Through the Ice
I've never done carp thru the ice but that is similar to what we do for Pike. And yes. It is a blast when they are runnin'.

Re: Carp Through the Ice
I thought about trying to shoot them with a bow through the ice a couple years ago, but turns out its illegal in WI unless ur hole is 12" diameter or less. Big hole only legal for surgeon spearing, at least that's how the warden explained it to me when I asked him about it.

I'm wondering if this is a late ice event? Looks like they are on very little ice and wearing spring clothes for the most part. Would make sense that the carp on in there in spring I guess. I always thought they went to deeper water in winter. What part of the state is this spot Brad and what time of year do you see these carp under the ice?

Re: Carp Through the Ice
Its near Arena Wi, its a back water slough off the Wi river. I have never ice fished it but I know in the summer it is LOADED with carp, literally hundreds of them in a very small area. I have taken a few out of there in the summer via the bow. Its anywhere from 1 foot deep to probably around 10 foot in the deepest hole. It also has a few bass and a fair amount of Northerns and bluegills.
