[img][/img]I noticed the darn deer beating up my little cedars , so I go get some chicken wire to cover them. On my way , here is what I find 30 yds from my house. If you click on the URL you will see another picture. Just a thought that wont fly , maybe hunting for antler less should end by Christmas. I wouldn't even be shy about showing that one off in a place like Iowa.

I've never seen a deer with antlers past Feb.2 here and that's late. Usually all shed by first week in January in my experience .Depending on where you live it varies .As a general rule they should shed 6 weeks after the rut Wich was first week in Nov. Here WIch would be right around Christmas time ..Last year rut was later by about two weeks and the bucks shed around second week in January..If you pay attention I think you'll find this to be true...

Bucks commonly don't shed until April where I live. I've found earliest sheds the first week of February. Our rut is late December.

Every situation is different but shedding is generally a 6 week process .It's been researched and studied . Shorter days make does go into heat and lengthening of days causes antlers to drop ... I can't speak for anyone else but it holds pretty true in my experience...

Yep, beware anyone hunting baldies yet in the Holiday Hunt this weekend in WI. Or even bowhunting...look closely !
I was looking for a late season freezer-filler Wednesday afternoon when I shot what I thought was an average sized baldie from 150 yards, just before close. Much to my chagrin, I get up to it and see it was actually a recently shed, small buck  One side was still wet blood...must've shed that same day. :?

Went out after a buck I have been targeting on some public all year and I got half of what I was looking for... would be ecstatic with this find if I didn't still have a tag

I picked up my first shed this year in NE TN on last week Had pictures of him 2 weeks ago with on antler. Last card pull had 2 additional bucks that have shed already. These were all young bucks. Earliest I have seen it in my end of the state.

Cameras from friends in SE Ohio have shed bucks showing up at the cameras before Christmas

Found my first one is SW PA between Christmas and New Years. Must have kicked up 30 deer on that walk and not one of them had antlers. I highly doubt they were all does considering the area I was in and the terrain I covered.

Big guy I was hunting during late bow dropped a week before season ended. Was hoping to go looking for these sheds but I am afraid they are now covered in about 9" of the white stuff. NE WI

Scoutking, there's a warmup coming next week. I bet with the snow getting knocked down there's a decent chance you could find his sheds.
