I wonder if there is less rodent chewing in some areas because the squirrel population has been reduced so much

Thanks! Best shed I've ever found. Still pretty pumped about it.

I'm curious about the lack of rodent chewing as well. We have a pretty healthy squirrel population. My best guess was that the three older antlers were found along the spine of the ridge which is primarily pine trees and the oaks are down in the draws and creek bottoms. I see squirrels up in the pines some, but just guessing that maybe the majority of their time is spent down the hills. Still kinda perplexing that over the course of a year or more they hadn't once been found and targeted by some tiny chompers.

In areas with less rodents I tend to find sheds with less damage. With that being said I did find a nice set a few weeks ago that had laid there so long they were almost covered with soil and nettles
I have also came across a few spots this year that I thought for sure I would find something but only large piles of porcupine scat. Maybe they beat me to them

Lucked up and almost stepped on this guy in the swamp. Been getting pics and trying to figure him out for a while. Finding his shed in the water and tall grass where it was is about a 1 in a million shot. Hes got some age on him already so I'm excited to see what he looks like next year!

Some pics of him holding

Yeap he's a good one for sure! He's in this small area pretty consistantly, but doesn't seem to bed with any particular pattern that Ive been able figure out yet. He's got plenty of beds to choose. I'm going to throw everything I have at him next year and see what happens!

Found two old ones with jmaas07 on Wednesday. Both look to have dropped last season or the season before. All the tines were chewed off. One looked to be a 3pt side and the other a 4pt side.

Always nice coming across a match set in the bucks bed!

Here he is holding earlier in the year. Not a bad Massachusetts buck. Can't wait...

I think I have a few pics of him from late January and early February but was thinking that he was a different buck. Need to go back and zoom in to see if I can pick up those kickers. Regardless, he lacked mass on this rack, hopefully he'll put it on this season and hang around our place.
