Re: Matched set
It seems to be around 25% or less from all the responses. You guys see any relation to antler size with this? The bigger they are the closer they will be dropped to each other? The smaller they are the less likely are to drop together?

Re: Matched set
I don't really look for sheds just stumble across them scouting. On Monday I was scouting and found a spot that looked promising for a bed. There happened to be a fresh match set laying right in the bed, it was pretty cool. Only the second one I've ever found (only have found about 8 sheds in my 10 year bow hunting career).
In my part of PA bucks need 3 points on one side to be legal. This buck was a 5 point with no brow tines and a broken g2 on his left side making him just legal. The funny thing is he had a 20in right main beam, 18in left main beam, and 4in bases. His mass carries pretty far into his beams as well. I'm looking forward to chasing him next season

Re: Matched set
I have a few match sets. I have a set off a huge 6 that was right beside each other at a fence crossing.

One set I have scored 145", the other set is a spike I don't think size has much to do with it myself.

Re: Matched set
Out of 109 sheds I have 11 matched sets. 25% matched up. All of them were within 20 yards of the other side (some not even a foot away) except one that was about 300 yards from the other side. I match about 50% of the big deer I find. Never really put effort into matching the small ones.. with that said I've never matched any deer I was trying to.

I have found 9 total sheds in the last two years. 8 of them were matches (4 matched sets).

Re: Matched set
I only ever found one matched set, and they were both laying together in a bed. It was a mid 130s 9point. The bed was in the middle of open hardwoods with no cover near a walking trail on public land.

I have matched sets that I've found 2 months and 500+ yards apart and I've got sets thst were literally 2 get apart. I found 3 sets last year. 2 sets were right meet to each other and the other set was about 40 -50 yards apart

Re: Matched set
I could be the worst shed hunter in the world. Although I have found a 90" shed. Driving down the road in Ohio, I spotted it from a field. Just about broke my buddies neck slamming on the breaks to get it. I've never found a match set though.

Re: Matched set
I don’t find many horns... Probably less than 20 my entire life. I’ve got two matched sets. One set was laying by a lone bush 100 yards from the parking lot. The other set the antlers were 40 yards apart.
Last year or the year before I found the right side off a 2.5 yr old, then the left side off the same buck as a 3.5. They were 20 yards apart in a 20x50 yard patch of cedars.

Re: Matched set
I found 2 match sets myself 1 set side by side other set was about 20 ft apart. My buddy I she'd hunt with each found a side to 3 sets and those were I'd say 600 yards apart.

I’ve found 3 matched sets. All 3 were less than 1 yard apart.
