Big spring Shed!

Found this shed 2nd week of March! At this time, looking to find him on camera and see if he is local buck based on were I found antler.

Stud shed, hope you locate him. Dark colored shed for a Iowa!

Yes, very dark for Iowa... I have found many sheds over past 10 years and this is the darkest by far... could it be just the bucks unique attribute ... dark horns or is he shredding cedar trees with those horns. if it is the latter .. it may help me kill him. But will have I find him first!

Nice shed for sure.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

May be a little late but try smelling the antler to see if you smell any cedar scent. Also look for any residual cedar material left on the horn. I doubt it's from rubbing cedars. I'd say either genetics or doesn't spend much time in open areas. I always feel the darker antlers mean they don't see as much sunlight but that's just a theory and is still unproven. If true this may also help you locate him if he's from the area. Good luck
