When is the best time of year to start looking for sheds in Iowa ?

Generally speaking, Valentines day is the traditional kick off to shed hunting season

So would I still be safe to go looking that last week of February because thats what I took off from work now. I plan on doing it in Woodbury County.

I don't know a lot about the Western counties, I'm in the SE region. But you can find quality sheds through turkey season, but on public land chances are many people will have been through there by then.
