Nice bunch of sheds! I like the wall display. Might have to do something like that with mine. Great, now I want to go out for a walk! ;) Where would you say that you find most of your sheds? Bedding, food sources, or on trails in between?

that log on my wall is a old stump I pulled out of a lake while I was doing a job I collect them year round and give them to my taxidermist. I find most of my sheds in micro climate bedding areas

What makes the bedding areas a microclimate?

What makes the bedding areas a microclimate?

microclimate is an area that's more stable in temperatures dark pine canopy's terrain that blocks the wind ravines drainages dark swamps where water helps warm the air. basically if you ever walked threw the woods and found the spots you can feel are warmer and there's always a calm wind that gently swirls giving deer shelter and a wind advantage for bedding they can bed in these areas year round to get out of the weather and don't need a specific wind to bed their. dark overhead cover and soft bedding floor.

Nice collection, I don’t start looking for sheds till around March 20th, most bucks around here hold them into March, I do more scouting then shed hunting I feel one takes from the other when I try to scout and look for sheds. Heck I’m still trying to kill a buck in Ohio, got to February 4th to get it done
Persistence pays!!!
