What state are these in? Do any seem fresher? I haven't had any luck yet, though didn't walk a whole lot either, between the deep snow and high gas prices to head south to my good spots has slowed me down a little.
A friend of mine picked up a match set this week where he walked two weeks ago, so those were relatively fresh. There might be a few carrying yet, but I would have to think most are dropped.

You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

New Jersey. Most of what Ive found this year are from this year. And most of them have been off deer for some time. I dont think there are many deer carrying still but I do have people tell me their still seeing a few. I hear ya on gas prices Ive only been to my hunting areas once. All of these sheds Im finding are off of public areas close to home. I have three sets and alot of singles.

I didn't realize New Jersey had such good public land.

That looks like the kind of public that would be really fun to hunt
