Shed and dead buck

Unread postby Casper » Sat Mar 20, 2010 11:24 am

Found these where I hunt today. Too bad the shed broke off by the brow tine. I passed this deer up as a 130" ten point as a 3.5 year old in 08. The main beam is 20 inches from tip to where its broke. Hopefully he is still alive.

Interesting find Casper. Hopefully you'll see the buck this coming season.

I would guess that the "shed" actually broke off during a fight at the base much earlier in the year. How fresh did the break look?

Nice find by the way.

Its not even close to the base but ya its a broken off antler. I considered it a shed because its an antler that I found on the ground, just like a shed. It was their for a while. And thanks! Glad I found it.

Pretty neat to find a broken antler in my opinion. . . Tells you a massive fight broke out right where you stand!
