Finding a fur buyer?
How do you guys, varmint hunters and trappers alike, find a fur buyer in your area? I know a few trappers and hear stories from others and when the discussion of fur buying comes up I ask who they sell em to and the common answer is "just a guy who comes to town buyin furs every once in awhile" or "I have a guy its a friend of a friend". I feel like I am getting involved in something sketchy like drugs or gun sales that no one is sposed to know about when really I just have some furs I'd hate to see go to waste. If there is a directory or website of some sort someone could link me too that'd be greatly appreciated.

Re: Finding a fur buyer?
thanks for the help dan you ever do any trapping? I burned up a few hours tonight poking around on trapperman.com....seems like there's a huge learning curve but its fascinating to me! I'll be in trapper education this spring(not offered in winter just spring), so long as it doesn't conflict with turkey season.

Yes, I trapped when I was younger. Mostly coon. Back then you made pretty good money for the pelts.

trapperman.com is where it's at to learn about trapping.
I used to trap quite a bit...just do a little now

Re: Finding a fur buyer?
If you know someone that traps and can tag along that helps, I learned alot from my Uncle who has trapped since he was 6 years old. Trapping really helps you pay attention to the details...
