Did he circle back towards his bedding area when he died?

Yes and no... He did not go back to the bedding he came from, but he did go to another known buck bedding area. If you watched the show close I pointed out the two areas I thought he could be bedding at, he came from one, and went to the other.

When will the new hunts be added? I will wait for that one.

Also, I am going to PM you about something else.

Dan,

A couple,of questions for you.

Were you sitting in an apple tree? It looked like fruit was on it unless my eyes are worse than I thought.
Even with the wind coming from the SW ( if I recall directly), with the speed it was coming would there not be a lot of swirling of the wind around the area you were at even with the small amount of trees? Hopefully that makes sense since it seems like it would not just keep going straight in the direction it was going. Thanks.

There was an apple tree right next to the elm tree I was in... Yes, it was loaded with apples.
Because of my height and the direction of wind there was not much swirling... I think it was a North west wind if I recall correctly. It was pretty consistent.

I was even second guessing it, and I saw it with my own two eyes...

If I had to reason why, I would say the heavy wind was a factor in that also.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I was thinking the same thing. The deer was probably unsure what it heard and just like a sharp knife, it can take time to feel the pain if its a clean cut.

By far the best episode so far!

Awesome job! I liked the setup and how you approached your stand site. Hard to get second chances like that. That probably is a testament that the deer had not been spooked around, and low pressured from Dave.

Was that an apple tree to your right? That's a cool little bonus to a staging area.

Something I was curious about.... the truck tracks through the CRP, did Dave drive that route through the field to funnel the deer to the staging area?

I have created "easy" walking to help a buck across fields like that before
