Outstanding video dan! I liked how you took us along when you were following the blood trail and explained what you were seeing and why the deer did what he did. I also liked seeing the shot from the camera angle you had.

Keep up the great work!

you seemed to hunt pretty close to the trail cam setup and right on the field edge - not back in the woods closer to the bedding area where I would have expected you would typically setup.

did the rut timing influence this?

had the cam been gone from the area for a while?

was your setup purely based on your trail cam evidence that the buck was indeed routinely moving through the field in daylight?

Rut probably did influance this hunt...
The camera was still there, and the reason I hunted where I did was because the buck showed three days in a row in daylight on the camera.
Yes, the hunt was pretty much based off the trail cam... I could not hunt closer on that wind.

Watched the full show Dan, good job. I also liked how you gave advice on backing out on a liver shot. It would have been neat if you could have shown the color difference between the blood on a liver versus lung hit, but as you said your limited on time. I think far to often many bow shot deer are lost due to lack of knowledge when it comes to tracking. I think many hunters would have tracked that deer, bumped him across that pasture and likely gave up when they found little to no blood in that pasture. I'm sure this video will help a lot of people in that regard. Another thing that would help many out is showing your entrance route to the stand and how critical that can be.
Thanks again Dan for giving us a place to share ideas and learn new tactics!

Great way to show the real scenes in hunting, one of the most respectable hunting videos I've seen.
