Re: How do you like the show??? POLL
i'm new hear, so don't axe me for this.
it was ok. i hit "good"
the camera gear needs an upgrade. manual focus.
the editing is very basic
this won't cut it for tv time, unless the pursuit channel puts it on. web show quality.
i am strickly talking footage quality.
you told the story, thats half the battle. you built the story with very little before shot footage. you could of used more B roll before the shot. you needed more angles on shots. recovery footage was long, but you didn't have much to work with. you can always shoot B roll the next day, if conditions are the same. map graffics showed the pattern, but the clips are too long.
you are more interested in the tactical side, that is fine. the method was proven. i just think you can do better on the footage. you are showing a lot of information, but most won't be able to "see" it.
i am very much into the video and editing side. thats why i am harsh on those points. you need to roll more footage on your hunts. it gives the editor more to work with.
example, i ran the camera for my dad's turkey hunt this spring. 2hrs of footage-for a 7-9 minute dvd/tv hunt. plenty to work with.
i also self film, it's a at times. it is very hard to do. hard to tell the complete story. angles, multi cameras running at a time, story, must tell the events that let up to the hunt, the hunt, the shot, the recovery, do 3-4 post interviews. give the editor something.
i'm not saying you need to be a Hartland Bowhunter show=30 minutes to kill a deer. i love that show for the camera ideas, but it's a little too far at times.
with my post count, i shouldn't be so strong worded. but you asked what we felt. i didn't want to sugar coat it. the basic concept is there, you just need to tell it better if your using film to tell the story.

So thus far it's a great toss up from "good" to "great" with no "suck".
Well done for your first episode.

I like the concept of it and it provides some tips and how to instead of alot of shows today just show the killing of a trophy.

I've watched it 3 times now great video it's nice getting info out of a show and not just see someone shoot a deer and then the recovery and get nothing out of it

It's so refreshing to see a hunt and not have the hunter rattle off 500 different products that they claim to be the reason for their successful hunt.
Thanks! enjoyed it very much!

Re: How do you like the show??? POLL
Glad you bumped it. I did not vote first time around? I did this time around. Voted Great, as I think the shows are very educational.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: How do you like the show??? POLL
The only thing missing was another screen shot to define the deer's path adding closure to the hunt...
Excellent job!
