Would any Beast members be interested in a possible group by on some of this static line for linemans rope that was featured in the DIY Sportsman's video link posted below.

I was going to get some for me and my wife but just enough for the two of us shipping was going to be about $20 so I figured I would see if anyone was interested in a group buy to help offset shipping.
I was thinking of cutting and shipping in 10-foot sections.
Possible group buy . . . .

Re: Possible group buy . . . .
I would suggest finding a local climbing shop or rope shop. They sell it by the foot and you can get better rope. The rope I use is Sterling super Static 2 and I purchased it by the foot from R&W Rope in New Bedford, MA. If you have a similar shop near you I would suggest checking them out first.
Pay special attention to the kN rating of the rope. You need something rated to arrest a fall - not just bear a load. Use a free fall calculator to determine the strength of the rope you require. If you don't understand what a kN is or how static line works, reacts to a fall, what a fall factor is, etc. then I would not suggest making your own safety equipment.
For example this guy:

Selects a rope of inadequate strength. If someone follows his advise they could get themselves killed.
Also - ascenders aren't intended or rated to arrest a fall either. If using one make sure you're not using it as your fall arrest equipment once in the tree.
