Dueling Euro's

Unread postby Sam Ubl » Wed Dec 02, 2015 10:46 am

I do a lot of European mounts, mostly for close friends, family and of course, myself. This one is of a buck a close friend killed with his bow, the other is another buck from the same property that he filmed after he shot the other before it apparently ran out to the road and got hit by a car. He was fortunate to claim the buck, so it was a 2-for-1 day. I think the mounts and display turned out pretty unique. The branch was actually laying in my backyard after a big storm, but it was cool looking and worked well. The most challenging part was getting the skulls positioned and sturdy as they are because of how brittle the bone is and the weight of the antlers.

That's really cool. Never seen anyone do a euro mount like that. I like it.

8-) I really dig the log.

I have done a similar display before in the corner of my trophy room. mounting [on a swivel bracket] a head on each side of the corner. The positioning is perfect to depict two bucks squaring off.
