Antler replicas

Unread postby natvbearhntr » Mon Jan 09, 2017 6:39 am

can anyone recommend a taxidermist that does antler replicas. I live in Shawano Co. so I'd prefer something up in this area but will travel if necessary.

Thanks
Rene

Try Brad Haase. He's in the Waupaca area and does nice work.

Or you could try Klaus Lebrecht. He's in New RIchmound which would be farther away.

I decided to go with Antlers by Klaus. I visited the shop yesterday and couldn't be more impressed with the setup and the staff. So now 9 months to a year and I'll post pictures of the finished product. Going to be tough being with out my mount for that long

Just curious, why are you getting a replica made?

I'd like to display it in my office but also still want it at home.

If the picture hosting works I am going to share my trip to Antlers by Klaus to get my replicated rack. First are a couple pictures of the entrance to the shop. They share the building with some kind of furnishing company so it seems a little strange walking into a factory type building.

But the entrance to the shop has this cool setup outside in the hallway.

Here are a few mounts that are done in the waiting area. I am assuming these are all replicas?

Then the reason I went there in the first place. It is unbelievable how close to perfect the replicated rack is to the original.

And then a few random pictures of the work shop. It truly is an amazing place to see. If you ever get into the New Richmond, WI area stop by and say hello. They are great people to talk with and if not completely slammed don't seem to mind showing people around the shop.

Looks fantastic. What's the story behind the buck if you don't mind sharing?

This buck was taken a long time ago when I was a young adult. It was taken during state season on 17 acres of land that I had never stepped foot on before until that morning. A friend asked me to tag along and hunt with him. We went out about 2 hours before sun up so I could look around a little. I crossed a small creek that had a pretty good game trail running up to it and through so I climbed up the tree with a climber stand, about 20', and roughly 7:15am this guy came through. Don't think I could have been more lucky. I always wanted to display it in my office but didn't want to not have it at my home so I decided to invest in the replica. I also had 2 local guys have house fires last winter and lost their entire collection of mounts and I don't really want to lose a once in a life time buck so now I can store the mold in a secure area and re-use it if necessary.
