Ideas for covering pipe
Dads making me a pedestal mount and he's using a 1/2" steel pipe for rigidity to hang the mount on. Do you have any ideas/pics for how to hide the pipe that looks natural?
We were thinking of painting it brown and wrapping small sections of grapevines up the pipe until it was covered.
Any other ideas?

You could use liquid nails and paint it to make it look like a limb. I've seen guys do that to their homebrew trail cams and it turned out pretty nice.

I used an old fence post mounted directly to the pedistal base then attached the deer mount to the fence post . I will try to upload a pic.

I'd do the same and then maybe wrap barbed wire or a vine around the pipe.

It's an octagonal base and then a pipe sticking up to mount it on. Not sure if that's a table pedestal or not.

I put a receiver tube/channel inside the foam. In the base is the male end. The deer then slides over the tube, bottom of the foam touches the octagonal base. You never see the tube.

Thanks for all of the ideas. This is kind of a unique design and you're definitely going to be able to see the pipe. I'll post some pics when it's done.

Could peel a white birch and then contact cement.

You could cover it with a fake rock, piece of wood, hollowed out corn stalk, cattails, fake snow. There are a lot of options.

Re: Ideas for covering pipe
Thanks again for all of the ideas guys. I'm super pumped as this thing is coming together as it's better than I even envisioned! Going to go with the stealth strip idea since I think it will look really cool, plus I LOVE the idea of incorporating an item into the display that I actually used to help kill the bucks that I'm showing off. I have a PM into Uncle Lou to get some strips on the way. Can't wait to show you guys what we came up with.
I stopped into the taxi-man's shop last week and he had both my PA and Ohio bucks on the wall drying. He said it will be another couple weeks until they will be ready to go. That gives me time to finish up this pedestal. Stay tuned!
