Finally finished up this guy from last year. Nothing special, but a pretty cool rack and decent for our area

It's red felt, and I believe some drywall patch mix to get the shape. Tried using the plastic cap and they looked pretty bad.

I finally got my mount back this Friday. Kill date - Nov 23rd 2016. Ready date was something like July 6th.

I did some quick measurements just before sending him to the taxidermist. I came up with a green gross score of 161. He’s very symmetrical so I would assume he would settle in 155-159 B&C. His g2 and g3 measured 13 and 11 inches respectively.

He didn’t grow much for spread but he doesn’t slouch on anything else. Wish I could find a mature buck around here with that kind of symmetry. Congrats on getting the mount back. Well worth the wait!

Thanks WTBLD. He has an 18" spread. You won't get very wide spread bucks this way. They make that up with mainly with mass but often with tine length too; the age structure here is very good in spite of the wolves.
