First I boil the skull for about 2 hours. Maybe 3.
Then I cut off as much of the meat as I can get off. After that I pressure wash the skull. It's very messing, especially when you blast inside the brain stem hole, but as you can see from the pictures it turns out very clean.
I do have all the teeth to put back in. They were really loose after boiling the head so I took them out to be sure I didn't lose them.

Re: cleaning a bear skull.
That's pretty cool. I have heard of pressure washing, but never did it. I just dug up last years buck that I buried, and it is still a little messy, so wondering what to do.
I sat my bear skull in the lake in 07, as when I got it back from taxi it was frozen but July and it started to stink in the back of the truck. So I stuck it in the lake. I came back from a short boat ride and it was gone. Figured a snapper drug it off. Everytime I dock I still look for it, and that was 10 years ago. Guess I should have made the mess with a pressure wash.
