Beginners luck
Well after years of wanting to try taxidermy, I finally tried one. My first beast buck and first attempt at a mount thought it was fitting. I was lucky enough to have someone show me and let me run with it. Gotta let dry and paint and a little clean up. Pretty enjoyable now to convince the wife I need taxidermy supplies

Re: Beginners luck
Looks good! I'd like to try myself sometime, but I don't have a lot of patience for the details. It must be nice to have it on the wall all ready! My taxi said mine would be July or August.

Re: Beginners luck
Congrats, he looks great! I am not sure if I will ever try taxidermy, however I am currently in the process of tanning my first trapped raccoon to make into a hat for my son who was with me when I trapped it. He is stoked.

Re: Beginners luck
Finally got him done today. Wanna thank my buddy without him I could have never done it. He must have gone nuts with all my questions
after putting it on that pedestal I think I need to make one makes the mount look pretty cool I think.
