Mount/Pose suggestions (pic heavy)
I am wanting to have the narrow 8pt I killed this pass weekend mounted.
I would like a pose similar to this trail cam picture. I think the pose I like would be an offset upright by Mckinnsie
You guys with more experience in taxidermy...could you offer suggestions of poses and/or mounts you think would represent the buck the best?
Thanks guys!
Tony

Is that a mount from McKinnsies?
Ive been having trouble with my pictures
I did a kill zone post of the deer
He is narrow but has decent mass and length
Im just searching for ideas before taking to the taxidermist

Re: Mount/Pose suggestions (pic heavy)
I prefer Revolution and Ohio forms over McKenzie if that's worth anything.

Full sneak is opposite end of the spectrum of what you were saying you wanted but since muddy brought it up thought I'd throw that particular one out there. Revolution has some different looking forms that are intriguing. They do have a semi upright you may like.

If you want it like that cam pic you might look at some of the wall pedestals. I have 2 at home and wish I'd never got them as they seem to take up more space and are kinda wobbly vs a flat backed normal form.

Thanks. I will check them out.
The full sneak is probably the only mount ive never given much thought too. My b-i-l and I were on a draw hunt and he killed an awesome heavy 10pt had it mounted full sneak. Ive never cared for the pose. But Im going to keep an open mind and explore them all.
Thanks again

Well, to mess with you even more.... top pic left to right a sharp offset upright with hard turn, full sneak offset, and a wall pedestal that looks aweosme but is wobbly as F on the wall. Bottom pic offset full sneak and another wall pedestal wobbly as F. Give me a few days and i'll have another full sneak at home. It's a form that grew on me... set the ears back and the deer looks 15" bigger.

Re: Mount/Pose suggestions (pic heavy)
My favorite forms are the offset shoulder, semi sneaks. I have 4 i think, all on Mckenzie forms. I also have 2 uprights, I don't really love the forms, but the taxi work on one of them is phenomenal. I wasn't going to mount my buck from this year, but my wife encouraged me to, so I decided to go with a full sneak, with offset shoulder(I can't remember which exact form it was I chose). We'll see, I only like about every other full sneak I see, but I needed to diversity on the wall. I'll add some pictures tonight.

The McKenzie 9600 upright is a nice form and I think your deer would like good on that form.
If you want a head down mount, IMO the Mears Aggressive sold by McKenize looks nicer than the 64D. The Mears form has a slight offset shoulder.
Here is one of my bucks that I plan to mount on the Mears Aggressive.
