Great 8 JM! I was wondering why you passed that 10 a while back, makes a lot more sense when I found out you had an Iowa tag.

Great buck Neil. I never thought of using a snort wheeze to get rid of a spike. Now to just get out in the woods, next week.

I think a lot of guys assume when a deer blows their hunt is blown, but IMO deer blow frequently, sometimes for strange reasons not having anything to do with a hunter. I've seen does blow while being harassed by bucks, I saw a doe blow last year while hunting that never saw or smelled me and a few minutes later a coyote came through.

By snort - wheezing I think I was telling that unseen buck that a "deer" caused another "deer" to blow......or maybe I just got lucky, maybe both

Congratulations again on a great buck, all the scouting sure paid off! It's really fun when a plan comes together, nice job! Too bad I couldn't help out with a drag again, maybe it will work out better in 2021 :P .

Nice work JM! Scout more hunt less, probably bittersweet that your hunt is done already though. Heading to iowa in a week so your story got me amped up!
