Epic journey. I have had a buck or two like that I chased over the years that I nor anyone else ever killed.

Great story man even with the bittersweet ending! Awesome buck!
I lost a big one that I gut shot by following him too fast as a kid, never found him and that haunts me to this day. Take this experience and use it to drive you to do better next time, that makes it worth it. Glad you got closure.
