Predator Kills
What predator would kill a deer and cover with leaves only to return for it later? Bobcat? Bear?

Re: Predator Kills
I'm thinking bobcat too. Have there been any mountain lions reported in your area?

Re: Predator Kills
I highly doubt a mountain lion but who knows...
Actually the carcass was found by a friend, he actually uncovered the leaves and when he returned from work, it was covered again. Weird.

Re: Predator Kills
Sounds like a cat of some sort. Bobcat or mountain lion.

I've always known a bear to do that.

Re: Predator Kills
Maybe another hunter that’s trying to hide a deer they didn’t have a tag for.
Shouldn’t be too hard to find a track wether human or animal close by especially if kicking up debris to cover the deer up.

Re: Predator Kills
If there's a lot of hair pulled out and mixed with the leaves, definitely a cat.

Re: Predator Kills
We found this 30 feet from a trailcam, unfortunately the batteries died so it didn’t show the bobcat with the deer but we did get a few photos of a bobcat the following few days. I’m guessing you probably found a bobcat kill from the sounds of it.

Re: Predator Kills
I would also guess lion, or bobcat. Ed it wasn't your fisher, but you do have a really cool mount
