2017 ky buck
On Nov 8th I decided it was time to try a spot I like to save for the rut. My access required going through some pretty thick stuff so I opted to wait until grey light to ease into position without making so much noise in total darkness. The set up put me on the leeward side of a ridge about 50 yds downwind of doe bedding. I was still getting situated and checking shooting lanes when I heard something. There he was at 40yds and closing. He was traveling right along the military crest of the ridge headed toward the doe bedding which brought him within 25 yds of my tree and into my shooting lane. I made a good shot and the rest is history, he ran about 40 yds and then slid about 50 yds off of the steep ridge after he died. This was my target buck and first encounter with him while on stand.

Dandy Buck.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
