Doe Suicide

Unread postby Mlehto » Sun Dec 31, 2017 3:47 am

Hunting public land with muzzleloader by Chelsea, Mi. Was walking through high grass scrub bush area where I jumped deer last year about same time. Came across dead doe someone couldn’t find. Following tree line between two grown over fields two does appeared 40 yards in front of me. I froze and they checked me out for about 30 seconds. They calmed down and took a few steps and started feeding on the ground. I shot the bigger one and found it 50 yards away. I guess they thought I was no threat, strange but I will enjoy the meat. 12-8-17, inch of snow on ground. No big deal, just different.
