The wife got one
11-28-19. My first wife’s first day off and only day to rifle hunt due to me coming back to work today and then going to Ohio for shotgun all next week. We got into the shanty by 6 and settled in for the all day sit. She brings phone and headphones and occupies a lot of her time sleeping or watching movies haha! And also running the heater burning me up! We saw approx 10 doe and fawns and 5 small 1.5 and 2.5 yr old bucks. About 4 I see a nice 2.5 yr old 8 browsing on the edge of the best bedding thicket. She looks him over a long time with the binos and decides if she gets a good chance she will take him due to only having the one day to hunt and! He finally comes out, stops at about 75 yds and she dropped him in his tracks with a perfectly placed shot right on the shoulder with her savage axis 243. I get so nervous when she is about to shoot one it’s almost crazy! I can’t imagine the adrenaline rush a father gets helping one of his kids get a deer! He’s def not her biggest buck but her 5th one she’s killed and a respectable deer for WV.

The greatest thing about taking the kids is the green light on ANYTHING. It's all exciting again, just like when I started.
Congrats to her.

No Shortcuts. No Excuses. No Regrets.
Everybody's selling dreams. I'm too cheap to buy one.
