Looks like a rewarding season.
Congrats on the elk. Finding a good mushroom score is memorable too.
Do you have a coyote coat and a vest?
I think I recall reading about you making the coat.

Re: 2020 Season in Photos
Thanks guys, appreciate it!
Yeah I made both. The coat is too hot for anything but the coldest weather - teens and below. I made the vest for more normal conditions. Anyone who decides to make something out of fur - don't put sleeves on it unless you are planning on some serious cold The coat is admittedly pretty bulky - took 9 yote pelts to make. Hard to describe just how warm it is, kind of like a heater body suit I imagine (never have tried one). Today it was -19 degrees (actual temp, wind chill was well under -30 I am sure) this morning and I spent an hour outside doing stuff in the yard around the house no problem wearing it. Only had a long sleeve shirt on my upper body under it. Didn't have a face mask on either, just the hood pulled up - the fur hood just around my face kept my nose warm enough, was kind of hard to believe. I might have been the only person who spent an hour outside this morning in all of eastern Iowa haha.
I don't wear it for show, fur is quieter and warmer than any man made material I have seen. In the cold seems like any fabric has a noise when you rub it together, like when drawing a bow or walking and having a branch scrape against you - not fur. Another interesting thing about the yote fur is that the combination of coyote smell and human smell keeps most deer from snorting when one gets downwind of me. That makes getting busted less disruptive when it happens. They definitely still spook, but more often trotting off tail down than tail up/stomping/snorting.

Wow. Sounds like fur is awesome cold weather gear.
But it's another one of those simple effective things lost to the newer generations.
Once they introduced velcro shoes it's been all downhill since.

Between you and muddy, you both do a poor job of downplaying Iowa.
Spectacular year with bounties of meat and two absolute tanks! Still love that yote coat.
