Thanks for sharing your experiences Stanley. If you could it definitely would be nice to see your take on a river bottom set drawn up and also the triangle woodlot hunt. Thanks again.

Just finished it up. Super job Stan and Mario. Reminded me of the 1968 LP-cast between Fred Bear and Curt Gowdy.

This the exact place and sequence of events that I killed the buck on opening day. The white arrow is the route the buck took. The orange line is the route I took. The yellow dot is the tree I climbed up into. The East/West road to the north is where I first spotted the buck coming home from fishing.

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

This is what I was talking about in the pod cast. I think this is a perfect example of what to look for when hunting the the river bottoms. The bottle neck is very obvious. Also the oxbow to the North is a good looking buck bedding spot. In my opinion this spot has it all. I did not hunt this spot but it is just such a good example of what I look for. If I was to hunt this spot it would be with a North wind and the yellow dot is about where I would set up.

This is the actual spot I talked about in the Pod cast. In my opinion you could not get a more stealthy set up up than this. Right about at that yellow dot is where I botched the shot on the buck. I think the rest is self explanatory. My travel route was floating on the river the red arrow.
