Sorry for the confusion. I did transpose the two in the podcast, my mistake. I spoke before I thought. To clarify I do hunt the outside bends. I Have provided a graphic example. Dan was correct in his analogy. Dan gets right in there with the bucks. I'm more low impact and get in between the oxbows/bucks. I like my my low impact approach coming in by water. The inside bends are normally too shallow to do that (as illustrated). Plus there is no cut/vertical bank to hide a boat behind. That is my though process; stealth on approach, very little ground scent, and very little human encroachment, plus my scent is not blowing into any areas that would alert other deer. Fits perfectly into my low impact style.
I think both methods have advantages/disadvantages. Hope this clears up the confusion.
