Great stuff guys. Hey Dan in part 9 when talking about hunting the rut you mentioned you hunt the morning, then scout, they set up for evening. In those cases are you typically abandoning the morning spot and hunting a new spot based on your scouting or another area all together or will you ever go back and hunt that same stand from the morning. Also you just curious about what time do you hunt till and then start your scouting. I have heard a lot of buck are shot between 10 and 2 during the rut and wonder what your thoughts are on that. My assumption is you are hunting a bed that you hope a buck will be J hooking into in the morning and if you do not see nothing then you are done with it?

There's always that one guy who has to say something like that. What a shame, although I doubt he knows what real work is considering half his videos are night time trail camera videos

I typically hunt a new spot each sit. Never is a strong word... Rarely do I hunt the same tree, but there is an exception or two. In rut, if im hunting mature bucks in an area I know well I stick to bedding in the 1st couple and last couple hours. Mid day action from cruisers is usually from younger bucks, but can result in a big buck. But, getting big bucks in rut funnels has usually been near bedding and edge of morning or dark. Big bucks do make mistakes, especially during the rut, but the only way I have found to "consistently kill them outside of managed land is to hunt bedding in the am and pm. Most of my midday cruisers have been 2 or 3 year olds

Thanks for helping answer my questions I greatly appreachiate it.

I should have gone more into detail but it would have been a huge post I tried to keep it somewhat short.

West for that areas only entry unfortunately the big bucks I found are bedded on points very close to those clear cuts within 30 yards and even the hardwoods are overgrown and thick average visibility is about 20 yards. The area also gets very low pressure.

So basically I'm burning a buck bed no matter how I enter. I was afraid that might be the case so I burn up good spots walking by them.

What a douche! Comments like that are normally caused by some long lean months of tag soup. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips & chains excite me... Keep on rockin brotha!
