I have had a good year.

But it's the hunt we are after. Even after killing three bucks the only thing on my mind is getting back to WV to chase a buck there. Those hills told me I couldn't kill one there so I have to go prove to myself that I can. I may not succeed but the desire to break myself down trying is intense.

Just to be clear, it's not about being greedy. It's just an instinctive drive to hunt, to be a predator.

Not yet. Passed on a basket rack 2nd day of archery back in September. It's been a fun season so far. Lots of new land to learn, and quite a few close encounters with a couple potential shooters.

Nope not yet.
Hunting NH here, been out 20+ times and have yet to even see something with antlers.
I have to remind myself that I live in a lower deer density area after coming on here and reading about all the deer sightings and bucks being passed up.
In all my time hunting this season so far I've seen a total of 9 deer and only had shots at 2 of them.

Shot a big mature 8 with bow few weeks ago and couldn't recover until couple days later. Having my best season yet. Scouting was better, keeping on deer, hunting good dirt and have seen more mature deer this year than years previous

I have yet to kill a buck this year.

Been tuff for me this year. Lots of highs and lows. This is the first year I've shot and not recovered a Whitetail. Missed 2 monster bucks. Passed up a few decent up and comers.
I've also learned tons so far this year. All my sits have been productive. I did harvest a doe so I'm thankful for that.

No kill for me yet, passed up a real nice buck on public I considered that hunt very successful. Late season can be great and I am happy to have a buck tag in my pocket :L:

Got a big boy to come out in daylight. My biggest buck ever 165 inch 10, but ate tag soup 3 of previous 4 years hunting harder then I did this year. So little luck involved for me!!

I screwed up this year by miss judging the buck I shot on Nov.5.
I thought he was much bigger, big time ground shrink!
Didn't have a whole lot of time for analyzing him before the shot opportunity.
2.5 yo 14.5" 7 ptr.

The first couple days I was really PO'd at myself, but then after searching for some self comforting, I realized the last wound /loss I had was 2013. Since then its been 5 arrows sent, 5 dead bucks so that's something to be proud of I guess.
Especially for an old coot like me!

Unless you ARE a celebrity
THINK you are a celebrity
WANT to be a celebrity.
It doesn't matter and nobody really cares anyway.

The only thing worth a pinch of crap in my book is the self imposed goals we put on ourselves.
We know if we screwed up.
We know if we should have put in more effort
and we know when we did good.
Don't need anyone to tell us either.

No buck for me yet. No shooters seen yet. I've only seen 2 dink bucks all season.

I'm gonna be hitting it hard these last 3 days before gun season to try and seal the deal!
It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid, than to open it an remove all doubt

I killed one, but I've been pretty bummed about it. I LOVE bowhunting more than anything else, and for some stupid reason I picked up a rifle to kill a buck. It didn't feel right using one, and it still bothers me. The worst part is that I shot him at 22 yards, close enough for my bow. I don't see anything wrong with guys using guns to kill deer, I just don't like it for me personally. Anyways, I'm ready for gun season to get over with so that I can hit the woods with my bow again.
