I don't really know that story. I think in the early 1900s the game laws were more lax than they are now. I'm not exactly sure when it became illegal to shoot birds of prey. I know for awhile there was a bounty paid in some states. In any event, the lips that could tell the story of that eagle fell silent in the 1950s.
