Nice Read on bed hunting.

Unread postby mathews418 » Tue Jan 17, 2017 3:21 pm

An article that popped up on my Facebook news feed from Whitetail Habitat Solutions. The guy that runs it now has his own farms to hunt these days but started out much like everyone else knocking on doors and hunting public land. He now has his own habitat service but he to knows to kill a mature buck you have to know where he beds.

His name is Jeff Sturgis and I know him fairly well, he does a fine job on consulting and I have read all 3 of his books

He's been on a wired 2 hunt podcast also that was pretty interesting. Useless info for the public land guys, but it gets the juices flowing if you have a property you can make changes to.

Good read! Thanks for posting. I've known about Jeff for along time. He used to post a lot on another forum I frequented. Always liked reading his stuff

Jeff is the consultant that came to my land and helped me lay it out. Anyone have any questions let me know.

I know this is an old thread but scoot what did your plan look like was it a checklist of things for the next several years or a few pages of paragraphs? Just curious I know everyone’s plan would be different but considering a consultant and curios what the plan is like

How did your season work out for you? Did his consulting help with success on your land? The biggest take away from his visit?
