Dans 5 star froglegs

Unread postby jmaas07 » Sat Jul 01, 2017 1:49 am

I picked up a pair of dans 5 star froglegs and I'm thinking about wearing a light pair of pants over them to quiet them down if I'm gonna wear them to the stand and in the stand. Anyone have a system for these to reduce the noise?

I just walk carefully or if I'm on dry ground for the final approach, roll them down. I've got a buddy who stealth stripped his. That worked well.

I took an old pair of camo sweat pants and cut the bottom section of the leg off and stretch it over the chaps when they are rolled down to make them quieter and compress them. It's not too hard to walk in them quietly if you go slow. I haven't hunted with them yet but used them a lot for my spring scouting. Love them so far!

Get them wet and walk in them a good bit... they'll quiet down. Mine only took 10-20 miles to do so. About the only spot that makes any noise on mine anymore is where they run at my thighs. A couple stealth strips strategically placed there would quiet them down completely for me.
Go where none other dare to go, and there you'll find success.

I wear cheap pants over my hipboots. I do that to protect the rubber. You don't need that protection with yours...but it does work. I don't squeak when I walk.
