Sat Friday night and passed a spike and a 110-120" 8pt. At least i think he was an 8, didnt get the best look at him.

Decided to sit last night out and get some stuff done around the house.

Setup tonight along a creek with a couple white oaks still dropping. Have seen alot of good bucks in this area but not until around mid Oct usually, but with it being so warm i figured id give it a shot. I can also see a pretty good ways so it kind of doubles as an observation sit.

Goodluck tonight fellas

Turkeys roosting behind me making a bunch of racket. Last few days walking in I could have filled my fall tag but didn't want to mess around in the heat and blow my buck hunt.

Just had a turkwy family walk by too. May have taken a shot if it was gobblers. One fawn bleat in the thick stuff 10 minutes ago, otherwise nothing but squirrela and the turkeys.

Downpour calls for bow in hand slow scouting and trail camera checks, if it stops before dark I may shimmy up a tree....

Had the same thing happen to me a couple years ago. It sucks at the time, and really sucks knowing I had a fatal hit and just pushed the buck too early.

Don't sweat it. Happens to everybody at some point. There are lots of bucks out there still

No deer seen. Heard one in the oaks on the other side and had a fawn bleat in the bedding. Thinking they went to the creek for water before feeding

No deer for me, only turkeys.

Have to work thru Thursday then back at it Friday-Sunday. Might have to break out the cold weather gear after getting used to this heat.

After surviving the brutal heat wave this weekend the rest of the season should be gravy. 8-)
